NZBN unincorporated entities outage 26-29 October

Some NZBN API services for unincorporated entities will be unavailable between 5pm on Friday 26 October and 8am on Monday 29 October due to a planned outage.
 

What’s happening during that time?
We’re replacing one of the register platforms during this period, so API operations for viewing full details and editing the entity types below will be unavailable during the outage:

  • sole traders
  • partnerships
  • trading trusts
  • public sector entities
  • limited partnerships

Searching for businesses by name/number will still work as normal during the outage and will return summary details for all entity types. If you try to get full details or edit an entity of the types listed above during the outage period you will get an ‘entity not found’ error returned.
 

What will happen after the outage?
All services on the NZBN website will resume on Monday 29 October. While the outage is in place, the register platform that the NZBN website uses will be replaced.

 

The new Business Registers platform (businessregisters.govt.nz) will have an improved look and offer services not previously available, such as online filing for limited partnerships.

 

The NZBN API will return more details for limited partnerships, including general partner details, contact email address, and country of origin for overseas limited partnerships.
